The service was great! I've tried hot pots, but this was my 1st time trying a bbq. The experience was very nice for a bday treat. I loved the theme of the restaurant.

Pricey, but you definitely get your money's worth of A5 wagyu meat. My friends and I did the gold tier which was around $78 per person. To make a reservation for 5 or more people for Japanese bbq, you put down a reservation fee of $20 per person. The appetizers were yummy. Nothing mind blowing but being able to get AYCE nigiri is pretty great value. The rice texture was a little hard for me. My personal favorites were the salmon nigiri, the seared salmon nigiri, and the yellow tail carpaccio. Our server did an amazing job. He was super attentive, courteous, relatable and funny. Shout out to Danny! Thanks for taking great care of our table, especially when we had a 2 year old to entertain. I highly recommend coming to X Pot to celebrate special occasions. The wagyu meat is high quality and melts in your mouth. You can definitely overcook it, so make sure to watch the meat, especially the thinner slices. The standouts were the chuck ribeye, the beef tongue, the ribeye steak, and the shoulder cut. You get 2 hours of validated parking so you kind of have to make sure you time everything well with the check and eating at Wagyu House. If you stay longer than 2 hours, then the parking garage will charge you $11 for anytime that's 2-4 hours.

We had an amazing experience. Great price and the quality of meats were out of this world. I've been to a few spots similar in Chicago and this tops them all. Also big shout out to our server Zach. He made us his favorite dipping sauce that really took everything up a notch. We got the middle experience and worked perfectly for us. Kinda lost track of time but still ended up leaving full and happy.

food: high quality ingredients that match the price point, chicken broth was good service: nice staff but didn't like that our waiter seemed to be rushing our meal, I understand you can't let people sit forever but this is an ayce place so let me enjoy my time and get my moneys worth ambiance: interesting vibe, in a location where I feel like it will never be super busy, very modern

I've been wanting to try this place for the longest time. There is another location in SoCal, which is closer to me but every time I've made my way down to SoCal from the Bay Area, I never have the chance to try it out. I happen to find this restaurant in Chicago too, which excites me so I knew I had to give it a try. This restaurant is similar to XPOT in Vegas and Mikiya Hot Pot where they have several different options/packages to choose from. We usually go for the gold package (there's silver, gold, and platinum). The SoCal location usually has the spicy Szechuan soup but this location only had spicy miso, however, they did for a limited time offer the spicy Szechuan soup-- which I was super happy about. Each packages comes with appetizers you can choose from and some meats that are unlimited. Everything tastes fresh and delicious. Service here was not too terrible but did feel like we had to flag some people down at times. Nothing overly difficult to do though. The setting was beautiful and spacious. Well lit, cozy, romantic, and like fine dining. Parking wasn't too difficult to find. We came here on a Monday night so we were able to find parking right outside. You would have to pay during the day though. There is also an underground parking garage nearby. Overall, I would highly recommend. Cannot wait to try the one in SoCal.

Food: 10/10 Spectacular! The best Wagyu bbq experience ever! We got the silver Wagyu set, which means each person was $48, and you could east one item from their specialty dish menu, and unlimited items on their regular foods during the 90 minute time limit. The Wagyu ribeye and brisket were my favorites bc each cut was not too thick or thin, thoroughly marinated and was tender after cooking. I liked how they had a little food bar where you could choose sauces for your meat (or hot pot if u choose that option), get rice, curry, fruits, and vegetables. Save room for ice cream as desert! Service: 9/10 Service was very quick, we came during opening time and the wait was 5-10 minutes to be seated. The server was very accommodating, he came to our table to ask us every time if we wanted more meat to grill, and patiently waited for us to choose or ask him questions (bc we don't know the difference between meats). On the downside, every new round of meats we ask for, the amount of meat they gave us was significantly less each time. Ambiance: 10/10 Literally feels like a modern palace. I loved the black and gold aesthetic to the place, and the large black pillars. There were many pretty lights inside that would make it look like a club during the nighttime.

I've been coming to this spot since it opened, and overall, I think it's a great place for high-quality all-you-can-eat (AYCE) hot pot. Here's my take: First, the ambiance is fantastic. The restaurant feels spacious, the seating is comfortable, and it's a relaxing environment for a long meal. I was also glad to see they now have a sauce bar and a veggie/appetizer bar! However, the appetizers are pretty average and could definitely use some improvement. You can also skip the shrimp tempura. While the meat quality is still pretty good, I've noticed that the menu seems to shrink every time I visit and there is less effort put into the presentation, even though the prices remain the same. I always get the highest-priced tier to try all of their offerings, but on my most recent visit, it felt like there were fewer cuts of meat and appetizer options compared to before. That said, the food still comes out quickly, and the meats are fresh. They also have a seafood platter option, but the quality of the seafood isn't on par with the meat. While it's a nice addition, it doesn't stand out and feels more like an afterthought compared to their stronger focus on meats. I also appreciate the sushi options that are included in the menu. The fish is fresh, but the sushi rice feels a bit off, so I usually stick with the carpaccio, which is consistently great. One downside I've noticed is that the Wagyu nigiri isn't as good as it used to be--the piece of Wagyu is bigger now, but it doesn't have that melt-in-your-mouth texture anymore. On the service side, it was excellent. Our server was busy with another table, but the manager stepped in to take our order. Even though he seemed very busy, he was calm, attentive and checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. All the waiters were polite and efficient, which we appreciated. For the broths, we got the chicken broth and the Szechuan spicy broth--both were fantastic! The chicken broth is especially flavorful, and I'd highly recommend it. One final tip: get the membership! It's $28, but you get $10 off your meal every time you visit, and your guest also gets $10 off, which adds up quickly if you're a regular. Overall, while I've noticed some changes in the menu over time and feel the seafood platter doesn't quite match the quality of the meats, I still think this is a solid choice for high-quality AYCE hot pot with great service and a relaxing ambiance.

This is my new go-to BBQ spot and the only place in town with beef tongue--major win! Service was fantastic; the staff was super attentive during my anniversary dinner. I went with the silver set, which was perfect. You can choose between BBQ or hot pot, and the $28 membership fee is worth it for cheaper meals and a free birthday meal long term(plus, you can bring a guest). Highly recommend!
